Partial Joint Replacement

Partial Shoulder Replacement

Partial shoulder replacement, also known as partial shoulder arthroplasty, is a surgical procedure that repairs only the top of the humerus bone by drilling into the bone and attaching a metal ball “head.”

The goal of the surgeries is to reduce pain and restore the function and mobility of the shoulder joint. Your surgeon will determine if a total or partial shoulder replacement is right for you based upon the extent of the damage.

Partial Hip Replacement

A partial hip replacement, also called a hemiarthroplasty, is a surgical procedure to replace the damaged ball portion of the hip joint with a metal or ceramic artificial ball. The damaged socket portion of the joint is not removed. The remaining natural bone and tissue are then reattached to the new artificial ball.

Partial Knee Replacement

Partial knee replacement is surgical procedure to replace part of your knee joint. It’s also called a partial knee arthroplasty. Your surgeon will remove damaged sections of your knee joint and replace them with an artificial joint (a prosthesis) made of metal and plastic. The goal of knee replacement surgery is to resurface the parts of the knee joint that have been damaged and to relieve knee pain that cannot be controlled by other treatments.
